Emmy Awards 2015 | Best & Worst Dressed Part One

The 2015 Emmy Awards took place in Los Angeles a few days ago, celebrating in style the best of television, and the fashion certainly didn't disappoint with those who shone and those who should have probably stayed home. I know it's supposed to be about the acting, producing, writing and talent, but I can't help focusing on the stunning (and not so stunning) dresses, suits and everything in between on the red carpet. Join me as I reveal who I think really flopped when it came to fashion - and don't forget to check out part two where I reveal my pick for those who stole the show with their amazing fashion here.

Danielle Brooks is one of my all time favourite actresses on Orange is the New Black, and her colourful dress certainly suited her vibrant and bubbly personality, but it wasn't as flattering as I feel it could have been and she just looks so over powered in this colour scheme or like she should be on a children's television show.

While I love the shape of this dress and the sheer top, the fabric looks like something I would find used in an elderly couples living room curtains rather than on a show stopper dress. The colour suits her well, but I think it's not the right pattern for her and there needs to be more of a contrast between the top and the skirt.

The hot pink colour suits Uzo Aduba's skin tone really well, but I can't help but hate the paint splatter design in a horrible off grey blue in the centre of the dress. The halter neck line is something that I don't think particularly suits her either.

Pale skin and blonde hair do not a 'goth' make. Taryn Manning is one of those actresses who does dishevelled very well, so I find it hard, after her stunning array of gold dresses we have seen from her over the past couple of years which she looked stunning in, to like her in a black dress with a cape. It's an alright shape for her body, but does nothing for her fiesty personality and makes her look very dull.

I really don't think there is anything right about this dress...seriously, it looks like something a five year old would wear to a chavvy wedding if they were to make their dress themselves. It does nothing for Retta beautifully voluptuous figure and washes her out completely.

It's such a shame about the shape of the skirt of this dress, because I really love the colour, it's just the ruffled skirt that makes this dress, and Tracee Ellis Ross look a lot larger on her bottom half than she is. The top is stunning, but the bottom looks lumpy and rushed.

Maisie Williams was in my best dressed in my last Best & Worst dressed post, however this awards ceremony she appears to have come dressed ready for bed with horrid fluffy pink shoes and a dress that looks like a quilt from the 1970s. This dress, on such a young beautiful girl makes her look much older (in a bad way) and the length of the dress isn't flattering at all on her - though I must give Maisie Williams props for her bold choice of choosing to wear old trainers to the after party in this societies fashion focused world.

Yet another celebrity who delved deep into the quilts of yesteryear. The colours in this dress are just awful, and the lines are all over the place. The only way I could describe this dress is imagining a scene in a film where a beautiful dress has been accidentally torn on the way to an event and the cast need to rummage in dumpsters and scavenge to find random bits to stick on to make a full dress again - only this time it hasn't worked!

The stunning Heidi Klum, usually flawless in her fashion and makeup, shocked me at this years Emmy Awards. Not only does the colour of the dress not suit her, especially now she is sporting such a dark tan, but it's not flattering in the slightest. Sometimes wearing a little isn't sexy. I don't understand the left hand side of this dress with the large frills.

Yet another 1970s quilt. While I like the colours on Judith Light, the style of this dress with the long sleeves and the high collar really don't do anything to show off her figure and make her look like she has no curves. The floral pattern is also so old fashioned. Zac Pösen seems to have lost his touch in his designs for the Emmys this year.

I love the top of Maggie Gyllenhaal's dress, but I can't help feel the bottom is a little too bright - she doesn't have the vibrant personality to stand out from the bright magenta. It also looks like it could do with a bit of an iron. Sorry Maggie, but this dress makes you look short and drained.

Let me know in the comments below who you thought was worst dressed at this years Emmy Awards - and don't forget to check out my picks for best dressed here.
