Welcome to the #DietCokeBreak, a monthly (or fortnightly - I haven't decided yet!) interview series on Twisted Beauty, talking friendships, social media and delving deeper into the fabulous world's of some of the most amazing bloggers I have had the privilege to connect with. I was inspired by the Diet Coke Adverts of girls getting together and having a good time, something that I wanted to make this interview series feel like, a chat between friends, about friends.

This month, for the first ever interview, the beautiful Jemma,

who is behind Dorkface, grabs herself a can of Diet Coke and tells us about

her friendships and blogging world.

1 | How did you first get involved in blogging?

I'd read creative blogs for years that inspired me artistically, and I sort of delved into the lifestyle and beauty blogs by accident. Upon discovering them I realised how much I wanted to create one for myself! I've always been a writer, photographer, addicted to social media and making websites, so the whole thing just sort of made sense to me.

2 | What is your favourite type of blog post to read?

I love a good lifestyle post, when someone shares their thoughts on particular issues or events. I love people just sharing their lives! I also super adore anything DIY and crafty/arty though. My creative side goes nuts for this stuff.

3 | Is your blogging something that your friends and family are involved in?

Nope, not at all. But I have now made friends through my blog and having other bloggers to chat to, meet up with etc. is just so good!

4 | What or who has been your biggest support in your blogging career?

Gary, my boyfriend. He's awesome! He reads every post I put on (bless him!), he helps me take photographs, gives feedback, understands the time and effort I need to put in and always encourages me.

5 | Outside of blogging, what is your favourite thing to do with your friends and family?

Haha, probably go out drinking with friends and being silly. Or shoping...yes, always shopping.

6 | Social media is a massive part of blogging. But is it just that? Has social media helped you form any friendships you wouldn't have had without blogging?

Social media has totally changed me. I'm now way more confident and outgoing! It's weird, because I know it's all been a screen, but it does from a great support group who always encourage you. Plus, I've made some amazing genuine friends! Some I've met, and now hang out with regularly. And some I plan on meeting one day!

7 | Everyone has that one embarrassing moment that they can laugh about with their friends. What's yours?

Every single time I've been really drunk and fallen over. It happen a lot. I'm a clumsy person anyway but get me intoxicated and it's all over! I'm known as that girl haha.

8 | What characteristics are you most drawn to in a persons' personality? Is there any traits that are an instant turn off?

When people are really funny, and up for a laugh. I love anyone who can be silly and take the piss out of themselves. I'm always attracted to other creative people too! It's so inspiring to be around other who think the way you do :).

9 | How do you feel your friendships, family and interest have reflected in your blog?

I think my interests are reflected better than ever in my blog; I share everything that I'm passionate about and it gives me a purpose to explore them further. As for family and friendships? Um, I don't think they've been reflected that much to be honest. I don't usually do posts about family or friends, apart from mentioning what I've been up to.
